Sebastian is one of the largest deep sea fishing ports on Florida’s east coast. With direct access through the Sebastian Inlet, the Atlantic Ocean is but minutes away from any Sebastian dock or boat launch facility. Many other cities along Florida’s east coast are quite distant from an Atlantic inlet. This means that you can be fishing on the open ocean in a short period from Sebastian.

There are both charter deep-sea boats available or docks and marinas for your own vessel. Numerous storage yards are available in Sebastian for your trailered boat. There are also several boat rental facilities available. The City has two boat launch ramps along the Indian River with ample parking. There is no charge for use of these facilities

A short drive from Sebastian brings you to the miles of beautiful beaches on the barrier islands east of the City. The Sebastian Inlet State Park is one of the largest and busiest in the State offering world class surfing events, two fish piers, boat launch facilities and RV/camper facilities. Click here to see more about the Park.

The ecology of the Indian and St. Sebastian Rivers provides great attraction for viewing many parts of Florida wildlife and marine scenery. Daily eco-tour boats leave from the Sebastian waterfront. Kayaks are also available for purchase or rental for use on both rivers.

The Pelican Island National Wildlife sanctuary is also located on the barrier island east of Sebastian. Walking and wildlife view trails are provided within this facility. For more information, please visit www.fws.gov/pelicanisland.

The Sebastian Municipal Airport is located adjacent to the Golf Course. Other facilities include rental hangers, aircraft maintenance facilities and a world-renowned sky dive operation. Click here to see all of the facilities at the Sebastian Municipal Airport.

The City of Sebastian is nearing completion of its major Indian River Lagoon waterfront project known as “Fisherman’s Landing Sebastian. For more detailed information on this project click here.

For those who enjoy walking, the City of Sebastian has constructed a two mile long sidewalk along the Sebastian waterfront. The sidewalk passes the Sebastian Yacht Club, both City boat ramps, several public piers out into the Indian River Lagoon, the “Working Waterfront” and many of Sebastian’s riverside restaurants. The walk includes ever changing views of the Indian River and its enviorns.

All forms of leisure activities are available for your retirement enjoyment in Sebastian.

The Sebastian waterfront is located on the western banks of the Indian River. This River is part of the Intracoastal waterway that provides boaters a sheltered, easy access to all of Florida’s east coast without facing potentially rough Atlantic seas. Many attractions along the Intracoastal are but a few hours by boat from Sebastian.
